I love creating
"Spaces"...
and think 'Art' shouldn't be a puzzle...

Let me fill in the blanks

Artistic... Visionary... Revolutionary...

"Caw-fee"...
Yes, I'm from New York City--
and that's the way we say "coffee"! ...lol.
And that's where
my company,
'Artistic Madness' began.
I create exceptional fine art paintings and murals for corporate offices, and homes.
Now in Houston, I'm excited about creating and transforming a space that personally reflects you.

"If walls could talk"...
Ah yes, but they do
& I'm fluent
in their language!
At Artistic Madness
I create art that from its' very conception
has you in mind.
I look at corporate and home space's --
their mood, their setting, color, design and function,
to create art that's in sync with its' environment.
It's not an "easy" canvas.
It's not a "cookie-cutter" approach to art
that you 'pick out' in a store...
It's art of museum-quality caliber
inspired by your setting.
For stunning rooms
you never really 'realized' before
and now, can take your breath away!

Stunning Creations...
Below are some of my favorite commissions; demonstrating my style and aesthetic.

the 'Buddha' Mural
Residential home Mural-Acrylic
The Client loved Buddhas--had them all over the house! All they said was "they wanted a mural of Buddha- just like the statue on the wall."
I had to research--there are SO many interpretations of Buddha... Fat ones/thin ones/gold ones/green ones/ smiling ones/serious ones, etc.
Commentary:
The hardest part of this job was capturing 'the face'-with that
quintessential Buddha "smile".
A semi-smile that conveys "peace", "love" , "wisdom" ,"tranquility" worldwide...
An expression as elusive as Da Vinci's
Mona Lisa' smile.
"Ghosts of New Orleans"
The Client was a big fan of music &
New Orleans' yearly "Jazz Fest".
He asked me-no specifics-to create
a painting for his office, in the Music Division of
Time Warner.
Commentary:
Instead of the usual
(i.e. showing crowds/bands/masks),
I opted for the "non-obvious"
-depicting the streets late at night, after all the fanfare.
You see the classic architecture, symbolic of New Orleans
...along with a lone figure.
A "ghost" , playing his sax; throughout time;
representing the eternal spirit
of the city.
Large 5x4 Acrylic painting for Time Warner offices, NYC.

'Jerry' in Amsterdam
Large 5x4 Acrylic Multi-Media Landscape

The Client was a "Dead Head"
-a term of endearment for fans who ritually follow the band, The Grateful Dead.
Led by 'Jerry Garcia.'
He'd seen them play there and wanted a painting that paid tribute to the band
and the city, Amsterdam--all in one.
I created this 3-D multi-media landscape, with brick tunnels and 3-D wire bicycles--synonymous
to Amsterdam...
Now, up close/top center reveals a scruffy/bearded Jerry Garcia on sax, hovering in the sky.
From faraway, he's camouflaged, for fans--part
of the iconic row-houses & aqueducts of the city.
Commentary:
I've never been to the Netherlands- but was asked to create a painting, to visually capture "Amsterdam"; along with somehow?- incorporating the band. Again, a conceptual challenge achieved through the use of intuitive consultation, 'left-brained' research, and 'right-brained' conceptual expertise.
Great Wall of China
Large 5'x4' stucco-textured Acrylic for home
.jpg)
Commentary:
A very intricate landscape representing the Juyongguan and Mutianyu sections of
the Great Wall. Again, was asked to create a painting, representing a very personal experience to the client... achieved through accurate research and conceptualization.

Spotlight on the Artist

Q?... So, why the name "Artistic Madness" ?
For me, ideas can sprout from anywhere.
Creative 'vision' seeks and finds inspiration from the 'unexpected'...
Often it's the setting-as said-
the space talks as well as you do!
Ideas too, come from
something observed, listened to, or said.
Ideas inspired and
coming from the unforeseen realms of
"unbridled creativity."
For art that makes a statement...
grabs attention; stirring conversations
and emotions.
Art, from where the fulcrum pivots away
from the safe and ordinary
-towards the unconventional.
Art, born of creative fervor and unrestrained calamity,
that surpasses expectations.
...Artistic Madness is
where creative brilliance is "plucked" from the air
and captured on solid canvas.
...It's where moments of madness and brilliance come together,
in what can only be described
as "Artistic Madness".

Look into my mind...
(the concept process behind a mural)
The client: Amazon, Houston TX
The assignment: An Office Mural (16' x 18')
The General Manager wanted a mural with ONLY these specifications-
(a). it include his favorite quote by Einstein...
"Not everything that counts can be counted",
And (b). have a 'graffiti-esque' look, reflecting Amazon's "laid back" feel.
These were the final concepts I submitted.
... Which would you have chosen?
